How to Tell If You Have BED
A bed is a piece of furniture that has a soft mattress on a frame with sheets to cover it. It also usually has a headboard, footboard and a set of bed rails. Beds are available in conventional sizes of twin, full, queen and king size. Beds can be upholstered in fabric, leather or wood.
People have been sleeping on beds since ancient times. The earliest beds were simply heaps of straw or other material such as animal skins and dried fern leaves. Later, wealthy people built wood platform beds that were a status symbol. Today, a bed is an important piece of furniture that provides a good night’s sleep for many people.
How to tell if you have BED
In the past, it was often difficult to determine if someone had binge eating disorder (BED). The shame and guilt associated with the episodes of binge eating led many people with this condition to hide their behavior. However, a number of red flags can indicate that a person is at risk for this mental illness. These include having a family history of mental health problems or eating disorders, being a perfectionist and experiencing a low self-esteem. In addition, the underlying issues of BED can contribute to health problems like obesity, heart disease and diabetes.
If you are worried about someone, you should contact a psychiatric professional. Psychiatrists and psychologists are health care professionals who are trained to diagnose mental illnesses. They can use specially designed interview and assessment tools to identify a variety of mental health conditions including BED.
How to choose a bed
The most important factor in determining the right mattress for you is your body weight and sleeping habits. A heavier person needs more support and a firmer mattress. A lighter person needs a softer feel and less support.
A mattress that offers more support is a good choice for most people. This is primarily because it helps to keep the spine in proper alignment. Depending on the type of mattress, this can be achieved by either a layer of foam or individually wrapped coils.
The comfort layer is the surface of the mattress that you rest on; it can be made of body-hugging memory foam, gel-infused foam for cooling or a combination of these. The support core lives in the deeper part of the mattress and is a layer of foam or, for a hybrid, individually wrapped coils. Some mattresses also have a layer that controls how much different parts of the body sink down into the mattress; this is called a transition or base layer.
